Group Picture Retake?

I honestly would like to have our group picture retake so maybe we should set a date and I do have a Canon Rebel XSI camera and I can bring it but if someone else has a better camera, they can bring it as well... I just want our picture to be the most awesome picture ever! I was thinking maybe we should try to do photo booth poses and I could design a photo booth strip. What do y'all think?

  1. I don't care what I look like at all. Whatever you want.

  2. I've got a Nikon D90. I don't really know the Canon models. Should I bring it? And I LOVE the idea of the photo booth shots!

  3. I haven't. But honestly, we were caught unaware and we're all lined up against a white wall. I mean, art at least gets proper lighting. I think Randilyn's idea is fun!

  4. Nope, I haven't but that picture was unprepared at all. I felt it was not fair to us especially that we are artists and we deserve a creative and fun picture of us!

  5. I don't understand why our photo matters. We have less than two months until the show.

  6. I would prefer to retake it Randilyn. I thought that was in part why Jerrye is looking into the photo booth. I don't think we should just be disregarding it either.

  7. I'm not real sure what that picture was about other than Marilyn/Graphic Design is creating a poster to announce the exhibits. It may be an OK picture to use for that use, but the one for your announcement should be the way you want it to be, whether its an individual photo-booth kind of shot or a group shot. Randilyn and Connie, why don't you all go ahead and make whatever arrangements need to be made and we can get something together on Thursday. I will email Marilyn about redoing the one they took last week.

  8. I thought Jerrye was checking on the booth for Thursday? Yes, that's for the event, but I thought she was going to see if we could actually go there for photos too. I'm going to send this thread to Jonathan Ruth and see if he has anything we could borrow prop wise to make a 'mock' photo booth for our shots that he uses for backgrounds. I think between all the graphic design people we can certainly rustle up a decent camera and tripod to snap the photos. And we could all bring in a silly hat or 'prop'.

Randilyn volunteered to actually mock the photos up to look like a booth.

  9. We may want to discuss this during our meeting tomorrow. I though the photo-booth idea was for the quality of that kind of photo, not to actually use the photo-booth as a prop in a group photo. I'm confused.

  10. I know it was mentioned for both. I think Jerrye was going to see what and where it could be done for free for OUR photos and I THOUGHT we were going to determine if we could get it as a donation for the show. I certainly wasn't of the impression any of us had in the range of $300 to throw down for it for the night. :)

But the backgrounds and things I wrote to Jonathan about were for our own photos. Jerrye is checking with Donna to see if she has anything we could use for backdrops for the effect. (example: http://lowresolution.com/images/booth.jpg) I think we need some kind of a curtain background with sides to control the lighting and some lights for directional lighting to imitate this. Most of that we could DO at IUS and no one would have to travel. We just need to locate the pieces. Then we all bring in one or two things to clown around with.

  11. I've exchanged emails with Marilyn. She said the photo is so small in the format that she doesn't think that it will make much difference, but that if you all want another picture instead try to get it done ASAP.

  12. I simply wanted a pic of us to have something to keep and look back. I don't know if we'd get a copy from Marilyn anyway. I thought it was something fun and thought we would need to take a break from stress so we'd have an opportunity to be goofy and have some laughs. Also, I thought of making an ad poster for our show so adding that kind of fun picture on the poster would draw more people's attention.

  13. Shawn is right though that we should focus more on the show because we're running out of time. I'm sorry that I mentioned about the picture thing but I didn't mean to make it a big deal.

  14. Randilyn, no big deal, we can reshoot. You're right, a little levity will not hurt. You, Connie, and Jerrye get it organized and I'll shoot.

  15. Jerrye explained to me that these might be used for the postcards, flyers designs. I did not understand what the intent of the photos was. I can understand the need to retake for a design resource if someone plans on using individual shots.

  16. I haven't heard from Jonathan yet. Does anyone have a class with him this semester?
