Patticakes

Well, I went with my mom for some breakfast and Patticake's on Market in New Albany and we spoke with the owner, Patty, and she said she should be able to put some food together for us. I doubt it will be enough for the entire event, but I think its a start. She I just need to drop off a form to her sometime this week and she'd get back with me after Harvest Homecoming to let me know what she could do. I'll stop by Porter Paints tomorrow before class to see what they can do for us.

  1. Just a thought. If we don't have enough food donated I wonder if Sam's Club would give the school a discount/donations. They have a lot of frozen appetizers that can be fun foods. I know they give student discounts on memberships. That's how I got mine.

  2. So we can use your membership to purchase those kinds of appetizers?

  3. I don't see why not. I can walk in and buy anything. Obviously, if we can get restaurant donations that's best so we don't have to mess with making it, but I can go in and buy what we need if we don't feel we have enough food.

I'll call them this weekend and see if they would contribute food too if we buy some. Possibly through the cafeteria or somewhere at school can we get access to warmers and things like that? Some of these things are microwaveable and if we can keep them out warm they may work well.

If I recall they have nice fruit and veggie trays too.

  4. Food comes out of our pocket if we buy any, Connie. We can't use our show budget for food or drink. It's not allowed.

  5. FYI, there is no "donation form" to provide to donors. Donors can receive a "gift-in-kind credit" by way of a form that the IUS Development office fills out on the donor's behalf. The donor provides a letter that states the value of the donation, and then the Development office creates a gift record which will be acknowledged for tax purposes by the Foundation. We will acknowledge donations with a letter of thanks on letter head. That's the lowdown.
